About Us
Caddell Dry Dock & Repair Company Inc. is a for profit company incorporated in the State of New York since 1903. Today our operations include seven floating dry docks at our facilities located on the Kill Van Kull in Staten Island, New York.
At Caddell, we believe that our track record of providing quality ship repair services has clearly distinguished us as one of the premiere full service shipyards in the New York Harbor and a vital member of the Staten Island community. The first 100 years of the Caddell's success has much to do with the single ownership of the Caddell family, which has always reinvested money into the business, shipyard infrastructure and dedicated employees. This practice has fostered decades of loyalty with our clients.
Our History
The year was 1903. Theodore Roosevelt was president of an America witnessing milestones in the world of transportation: Wilber and Orville Wright flew the world's first power-driven airplane; Henry Ford teamed up with 11 inventors to form a corporation that still bears his name, and Nova Scotia native John B. Caddell began a New York City-based shipyard business that thrives to this day.
