HENRY HUDSON'S HALF MOON IN DRY DOCK FOR MAINTAINCE WORK

The Hudson River is named after the Dutch Explorer Henry Hudson who sailed his ship the HALF MOON up the river in 1609. Three hundred and ninety-nine years later the 1989 replica, HALF MOON arrived at Caddell for maintaince work. With assistance from Caddell's staff, the all volunteer crew of the HALF MOON manuvered the ship into Dry Dock #7. Once out of the water, Caddell's craftsmen replaced the ship's wheel assembly, power washed the ship and repaired & repainted the hull. For many New Yorkers today, the HALF MOON is a unique sight to see of a bygone era as this special ship makes frequent voyages up and down the Hudson River taking sightseers during the summer months.
